Happy Spring! (it’s about time, right?)
New Richmond is located on the Wisconsin/Minnesota border just north of Hudson. Twenty-nine years ago, I started working for the City of New Richmond as Deputy Treasurer and in 2012 was promoted to Treasurer. When I started working, the population was around 5,000. Currently, the population is just under 9,000 and thanks to the opening of the new St. Croix River crossing, it is estimated that New Richmond will double their current population within the next ten years. It is exciting to watch the community you work for grow and prosper.
My hobbies include reading, shooting pool, throwing darts, playing cards, camping and just spending time with family and friends.
My husband, Marty and I will be celebrating our 28th wedding anniversary this month, where do the years go? We have a three-year-old beagle named Maggie who is quite the character and thinks that she is queen of our household most of the time.
As the new president of the association, I wanted to share with you a little of my work and personal life and let you know that I am looking forward to getting to know many more of you.
I have received several emails since the spring conference asking questions about certification and committee appointments, etc. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions that I may be able to assist you with. If I don’t know the answer I can, at least, point you in the right direction to obtain the information you need.
Here are a few of the upcoming learning opportunities you can take advantage of. I will be present at all three, and I hope to see you there!
