Topic: Active Shooter Mass Casualty Incident
In 2014, the City of Milwaukee Police and Fire Departments joined forces in a historic effort to prepare for the ever increasing likelihood of an Active Shooter Mass Casualty Incident (ASMCI). The state’s largest departments took part in joint training that would see the majority of the 2,000 law enforcement officers as well as the 800+ Firefighters, EMT’s, and Paramedics work together as a team. The teams where designated as the Rescue Task Force (RTF) and the Evacuation (EVAC) teams. These joint law enforcement and EMS teams are designed to move into the “Warm Zone” with the goal of taking medical treatment to the point of wounding, possibly while the incident is still unfolding!
“The men and women of the City of Milwaukee protective services continue to evolve and will address the modern threat environment head on.”
